16 Month old child abandoned on the freeway

It is a sad day in any country where police find a sixteen month old child walking on the freeway and almost hit by a truck.  How can one raise a human being for over a year only to abandon them under such inhumane circumstances.

I concede that people face hard circumstances every day and sometimes are pressed from all directions to a point of wanting to give up but when there are children involved the thought process should be different.  One should want to face another day just to show them that hope is still something human beings can live by.  Society should make it easy for women to make the hard choice of giving your child up for adoption.  No woman should force themselves to raise a child because she fears judgement from her community because it exposes the nation to traumatic headlines such as these and no child should ever be raised by a mother who is not fully committed to their well being.

I speak from a place of hurt and disappointment because for women like me and many others, the opportunity to carry, birth and raise a world citizen is something we desire more than anything in the world.   To see others take this opportunity and throw it back on God's face is just something I cannot reconcile my heart to.  I hope this child finds a home with loving and caring parents who will give him an opportunity to change a hopeless and loveless beginning to a bright future full of love and memories that will only build him even further.

And to his mother, may God deal with you according to your works.
